Michael O'Leary, Ph.D., of the University of Illinois at Chicago, will present "The Principle of Least Action in Physics and the Natural World" from 1-3 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, in the visitor's center at the Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center (ERDCC).
O'Leary is a structural engineer with Sargent & Lundy in Chicago. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
His talk, about the principle of least action, will address this fundamental principle in reference to physics and the natural world, its practical applications, and the history of its reception in both science and theology.
No background in physics or mathematics will be required.
