Fr. Cyprian Consiglio, a contemplative Camaldolese monk, is an internationally-known performer, recording artist, and composer. He has published numerous collections of sacred, world and liturgical music. A student of the world's spiritual traditions, he has offered retreats and conferences around the globe.
The concert, "Compassionate and Wise," will include world music from a variety of spiritual traditions. Fr. Cyprian will combine music, prayer, and contemplation to draw his listeners into a meditative experience. The retreat, "Dying and Rising: Preparing for Easter" will include morning prayer and two spiritual presentations, and will conclude with the celebration of the Eucharist.
Well-known liturgical composer Fr. John Foley, S. J., calls Fr. Cyprian "one of the finest musicians I have ever heard. He not only plays and sings music, but he becomes the music. If you want an experience that touches your soul, come and listen."
The Stroble Center for Liturgy at Saint Louis University enlivens, enriches and deepens the celebration of the Eucharist by enabling Catholics to participate more fully in the Mass, by advancing the composition of liturgical music, and by teaching students about the riches of Catholic liturgy.
