What you may not know is that Micah's parents are members of the Saint Louis University community.
Dad Marcus McArthur is a Ph.D. candidate in American history. Mom Mandi McArthur (Grad Cook '09) is a financial coordinator at SLU's Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness.
Currently searching for faculty positions around the country, Marcus began tearing a rejection letter he had received in the mail a few weeks ago. He immediately captured the infant's attention.
His son turned a seemingly somber situation into an uplifting moment and lifelong memory.
"All of the sudden, (Micah) started bursting out laughing next to me, which was great; it really lifted my spirits," Marcus told hosts Matt Lauer and Meredith Vieira on the "Today Show." "I turned and thought, ‘Oh, I'll grab my camera and tape it to send to mom at work.' He just went crazy."

The video lasts less than two minutes, but it sent the family on a whirlwind tour that has included appearances on the "Today Show," "Inside Edition," "MSNBC" and a spot on television actress Alyssa Milano's Twitter feed.
Mandi said her SLU co-workers have been "part of excitement" from the start, eagerly anticipating Marcus' updates about the number of video viewers and, upon the couples' return from their television appearances in New York, crafted and posted a sign on her door that read, "Our star."
The forward-thinking couple is using the moment to prepare for Micah's academic future by selling a ringtone of his laughs for his college fund, available here and on iTunes.
While young Micah has yet to decide his ultimate college destination, Saint Louis University - along with UCLA, where his parents met (his middle name is Bruin) - is in the early lead.
