Jeffrey M. Lipton, M.D., Ph.D., visiting lecturer and Saint Louis University School of Medicine Alumnus, is the director and chief of pediatric hematology/oncology and stem cell t
ransplantation at Schneider Children's Hospital, professor of pediatrics and molecular medicine at Hofstra North Shore LIJ School of Medicine.
His talk is entitled, "Diamond Blackfan Anemia: Ribosome Biogenesis Lost in Translation."
Lipton's interests focus on the rare inherited bone marrow failure syndromes. His current work is devoted to understanding the cellular and molecular biology of Diamond Blackfan anemia (DBA) and malignant predisposition and birth defects in patients with DBA.
