Psi Chi LectureEvent Details: 7:00 p.m., April 13, Busch Student Center, 20 N. Grand Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63103
Kennon M. Sheldon, Ph.D., professor at the University of Missouri, Columbia, will present "Pursuing Happiness: What Works and Why," at the annual Psi Chi Lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Busch Student Center room 170.
As an international leader in the "positive psychology" movement that is approaching a decade of study, Sheldon says that increments of happiness, spread out and refreshed through time, are possible.
"When you are being autonomous, or independent, and doing what you want to do, that is the first factor. Couple that with feeling that you're doing your job well, and that there are people in your life to share these things with, happiness can be achieved. These three things are like a mind gym, and happiness is the prize," Sheldon said.
The lecture is open to the public. If you have further questions, you may contact Beth Glauber at 314-977-2301.
