As a part of the Integrated Advising and Mentoring System, Honors advisors provide specialized secondary advising for all students in the University Honors Program throughout their undergraduate careers. Honors advisors work with primary advisors in the College of Arts and Sciences, John Cook School of Business, College of Education and Public Service, Parks College of Engineering, Aviation & Technology, Medical Center Advising, and Major Exploration to provide support for Honors students. Honors advisors also work closely with faculty mentors and staff from other programs, such as Pre-Professional Health, Pre-Law, and the Micah Program, as well as academic departments, to support Honors students in these programs.
Although many academic and curriculum questions should be directed to your primary advisor, you will want to speak with your Honors advisor about your status in the University Honors Program and progress towards completion of the Honors Program. Honors advisors are also available to discuss course selection, undergraduate research and thesis options, post-graduation plans, and distinguished scholarship opportunities.
The Honors advisors are Allison Pikaard and David Courtney.
- If your last name begins with A-K, then David is your advisor.
- If your last name begins with L-Z, then Allison is your advisor.
To make an appointment with Allison or David, please use the SLU Appointments feature on mySLU or call the Honors Program at 977-3951. The Honors Program also has walk-in advising hours during the fall and spring semesters, which are always posted in the weekly newsletter.
