National Trial Advocacy Competition
Once per year, 8-10 students are selected by try-out or by the Director of Trial Advocacy to represent the school in a national trial competition. The National Trial Advocacy Competition is co-sponsored by the Texas Young Lawyer’s Association and the American College of Trial Lawyers. Participating students are eligible for 1 hour of P/F credit, subject to recommendation by the team advisor.
Trial Team Advisory Board
The Trial Team Advisory Board is an invitation only group of SLU LAW alumni who are also past members of the National Trial Advocacy Team. Advisory Board members assist trial team coaches and serve as mentors to current students.
Other Trial Competitions
A number of organizations around the country sponsor trial competitions throughout the year. Our students are encouraged to participate in these and depending upon the nature of the competition, students may receive 1 hour of P/F credit. Examples of Competitions SLU LAW students regularly compete in include the ABA Labor & Employment Law Trial Advocacy Competition and the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition.
