SLU LAW faculty and staff members can request support for A/V recording of conferences, symposiums, guest speakers, and other school sponsored events. Please note that requests need to be submitted via email to AV@law.slu.edu at least 3 business days prior to the event to allow for scheduling of personnel and resources. Services for weekend or evening events can be coordinated through the Multimedia Services staff at AV@law.slu.edu.
Audio/Video release forms are required for ALL recorded events. Any event participant who will appear in a recording is required to sign and submit a release form prior to the start of the event. These forms are necessary to legally allow posting and archiving of recordings. It is respectfully requested that the event organizer be responsible for informing the participants that the event will be recorded, and for providing Multimedia Services with the completed form prior to the recording. By completing this process well in advance of the event, the participants have ample time to complete the form, and they aren't surprised by the cameras on the day of the event.
All recordings are cataloged, archived and transferred to an electronic media file. Those recordings that are for law school only viewing will be stored to a secured online service or made available for check-out through the Law Library. All general public events with signed release forms may be broadcast via the internet for public viewing on an archived "webcast" portion of the School of Law's Web site. Any recordings, or portions of recordings, intended for public posting without a signed release form will not be uploaded.
