School of Public Health Adds New Online Graduate Program
Saint Louis University School of Public Health, the only accredited School of Public Health in a U.S. Jesuit or Catholic university, has announced a new online option for its Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) program.
SLU's MHA program has been ranked No. 9 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
Beginning in January 2012, the EMHA program will utilize state-of-the-art distance-learning technology to provide working health care professionals with advanced management education to enhance their careers as health care managers and executives.
This fully-accredited EMHA program is specifically designed for self-motivated, mature and experienced health care professionals. Coursework will be taught by full-time SLU faculty members primarily through online sessions blended with periodic in-class meetings during each semester (one Saturday per month.) This structure will effectively allow EMHA students to conveniently access online coursework and interact with fellow students and faculty while still completing their degrees within two years.
Participants will gain practical knowledge in areas such as health care finance, policy, strategy, and management. A major emphasis will be on applying health care management concepts and project management skills to areas of interest where they are currently employed. Employers and students will therefore both benefit from the program as the EMHA students continuously apply cutting edge health care management theories and methods in their own work environment.
