Tegrity Lecture Capture allows faculty to record audio elements and computer screen activity, including text, slide presentations, web sites and demonstrations. Tegrity captures, stores and indexes this content online for students to access at their convenience. Students can view Tegrity Lecture Capture recordings on their desktop, laptop, iPod, iPad, or download them on a MP3 player to take them wherever their busy schedule demands.
Starting Thursday, Aug. 18, a link to Tegrity Classes will appear in the course menu of all SLU Global courses. Faculty who choose not to use Tegrity can simply hide the link in the course menu.
Traditional lecture capture involves recording the content shown on a classroom computer, such as a PowerPoint presentation, along with the instructor's audio from the class session. However, lecture capture does not have to be limited to the classroom. Instructors can use Tegrity to record supplementary content for courses. Test prep recordings, how-to demonstrations and other audiovisual materials are easy to create using any computer or laptop with a microphone.
Tegrity Lecture Capture recordings are uploaded to a server, processed and made available to students through https://slu.tegrity.com or a link in a SLU Global course. Students can then view the recording anywhere they have web access. Faculty does not have to worry about storing their recordings. Tegrity keeps them securely archived.
