The School for Professional Studies has announced the addition of two new associate deans.
Elizabeth Callahan, J.D., began a new role at SLU as associate dean for academic development and a faculty member in the SPS criminal justice and security management program. Callahan is responsible for overseeing the undergraduate and graduate academic programs, policies, procedures, assessment and development for SPS.
In her role, she will also supervise distance learning, faculty development and student issues. She will assist the dean to develop and implement strategic and operational goals for SPS consistent with our Jesuit mission.
For the past five years, Callahan served as director of the honors program and assistant professor of criminal justice at Saint Louis University.
LaShone Gibson, MIS, was recently hired as associate dean of global relations and a faculty member in the SPS organizational studies program.
In this role, she oversees external academic partnerships and national and international business development.
Gibson's management portfolio includes the oversight and expansion of domestic partnerships and international alliances -- as well as the development of experiential global learning opportunities for students and faculty.
She joins SLU from the University of Evansville Schroeder Family School of Business Administration, where for six years she managed the Institute for Global Enterprise in Indiana as its director of global business education and instructor of global business strategy.
