President’s Research Fund Begins Next Round of Competition
The President's Research Fund (PRF) supports promising research projects that have strong potential to attract external grant funding. $500,000 will be distributed in the next round to support research activity for both standard grants of $25,000, as well as a special Request for Proposals.
Applications for funding are due Tuesday, Nov. 1, via SLU's Electronic Research Services.
In addition to the traditional $25,000 competition, the November 2011 competition will once again include funding of up to $50,000 for four projects that reflect cross-school/college collaborations inaugurated in the May 2011 round. These awards are intended to support multidisciplinary collaborations across the Saint Louis University campus.
Eligible projects will cross traditional boundaries among academic disciplines and are expected to involve co-principal investigators (Co-PIs) from different schools/colleges. Successful applications will effectively convey how the particular disciplines contribute synergistically to the project and how the project will advance the field(s).
A multiple-PI approach is required, but the application must indicate which PI will have administrative responsibilities (including communication with the Division of Research Administration).
Further details regarding eligibility and requirements are available in the PRF guidelines and application template accessed through SLU eRS.
