Nearly 2,400 Saint Louis University alumni and visitors are expected to return to the SLU campus for the 2011 Homecoming Weekend Thursday, Sept. 22 to Sunday, Sept. 25.
The Department of Alumni Relations has a full schedule of events slated for the SLU community that includes the annual Golf Cart Parade, a music concert, campus tours, sporting events and the first ever "Taste of Midtown."
New to this year's celebration, "Taste of Midtown" will feature food and drink from some of the area's best dining establishments. The event, which has already sold out, will take place on the grounds of the nearby Hotel Ignacio, a boutique hotel that recently opened in the Midtown district.
Homecoming also is a time to give back to the SLU community. Throughout Homecoming week, Alumni Relations will be hosting its "Stock the Pantry" service project to benefit the Campus Kitchen. All Homecoming attendants are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item at the drop-off location near the Merchandise Tent located on the Quadrangle near Pius XII Memorial Library or room 351 of DuBourg Hall.
A full schedule of events can be found at the SLU alumni web site, but here are a few standout attractions:
