Billiken Dining Services and Salsarita's will be hosting a taco eating competition, with the first contest taking place at 5:30 p.m. on Wedneday, Oct. 5, at Salsarita's Fresh Cantina in the Busch Student Center.
To enter the competition, sign up with the cashier/associate at the counter of Salsarita's. Make sure to completely fill out the form and turn it back into the associate. Only six are allowed to compete at a time, but contests will be taking place every other Wednesday throughout the semester.
During the contest, the first to finish seven chicken, beef or grilled vegetable tacos wins.
There will be multiple "taco races" this semester and the winners will all return in December for a taco showdown.
The seven soft-shell tacos will contain: meat (chicken or ground beef) or vegetable filling, choice of rice or beans, Salsarita's homemade Pico de Gallo, lettuce, cheese and the participant's choice of hot or medium salsa. If a participant is allergic or otherwise unable to have certain cold items from the list above, they must substitute that item for one of Salsarita's other cold options.
The registration fee of $5 must be paid by the day before the contest.
