All staff members interested in attending this year's Cannonball Picnic must register by noon Monday, Oct.17. The event will feature food and attendance prizes, so all staff members are encouraged to register.
The Cannonball Picnic is held each year to recognize the contributions of SLU staff. The event gets its name from the battlefield injury suffered by St. Ignatius in 1521. This year's picnic will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, at Marquette Field, across from Tegeler Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the picnic will be held at the Simon Recreation Center.
Attendants who register before the Oct. 17 deadline will be eligible to receive door prizes that include gift certificates to Jazz at the Bistro, Hotel Ignacio, the St. Louis Symphony, Crave Coffee House and Walter Knoll Florist.
Shuttles for this year's Cannonball Picnic will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. between Marquette Field and the Saint Louis University Medical Center. Pick-up locations at the Medical Center will be the Crave Coffee House and Salus Center.
Employees who do not have daily access to a computer or Internet, can register by downloading the registration form and turning it in to their supervisor. All hard copy forms should be sent interoffice to Sally Zetzmann in room 201 in DuBourg Hall.
To encourage a casual atmosphere at the event, staff may dress down that day if their work environment and schedule permits. Please know that you will not be required to use vacation hours or leave time to participate.
