The University Libraries October newsletter is now available online. Many exciting events and exhibits are included in this issue and of particular note are:
- The 38th Annual Saint Louis Conference on Manuscript Studies (Oct. 14-15) will be hosting Michelle Brown from the University of London as she presents the Lowrie J. Daly, S.J., Memorial Lecture on Manuscript Studies at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 in the Pere Marquette Gallery in DuBourg Hall.
Brown's lecture is titled "Peopling Paternoster Row: Recovering the Artist of the Holkham Bible Picture-Book." This event is free and open to the public.
- Pius XII Memorial Library will host "Evening at Home with the Works of Mario Vargas Llosa" on 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, in the Knights Room of Pius Library.
Olga Arbelaez, Ph.D., a professor of Spanish, will discuss the works of 2011 Saint Louis University Literary Award winner and Nobel Prize winner Mario Vargas Llosa. Vargas Llosa will receive the St. Louis Literary Award on Monday, Nov. 14.
Event is free and open to the public.
