The Reinert Center for Teaching Excellence is pleased to announce that Patricia Freed, Sheila Leander, Dorcas McLaughlin, Lee Smith and Nina Westhus, all faculty in the School of Nursing, will be awarded the 2011 James H. Korn Award for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.
The award is named in honor of James Korn, Ph.D., professor emeritus in the department of psychology, and recognizes one or more faculty members each year for contributions to research about teaching and learning.
Past recipients of the award are: Korn, Jay Hammond, Ph.D., (theological studies), Mary Rose Grant, Ph.D., (formerly of the school for professional studies), Michael Goldwasser, Ph.D., (mathematics and computer science), David Letscher (mathematics and computer science), Janet Kuebli, Ph.D., (psychology), Paul Lynch, Ph.D., (English), and Jan McIntire-Strasberg, Ph.D., (English).
Korn will present the award during a reception at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in the Ground Floor Lobby of the School of Nursing.
The reception is sponsored by the Reinert Center for Teaching Excellence and is open to all Saint Louis University faculty and staff. Light refreshments will be served.
