Clinical Instructor and Practitioner (Faculty Practice), Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy
Has spent 13 years in clinical practice, with a focus on geriatric occupational therapy and adult physical dysfunction. Was a Therapy Department Program Coordinator for six years. Began working as an adjunct instructor at SLU in January of 2009 and started working full-time at SLU in July 2011. Focus on instruction has been in Adult Physical Disabilities in relation to Occupational Therapy as well as Therapy Policy and Administration. Has been the lead occupational therapist at the Saint Louis University Hospital ALS Clinic since January 2011.
Ongoing study regarding the use of adaptive equipment to support function following a diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) or Primary Lateral Sclerosis (PLS). Other areas of interest include Occupational Therapy in Primary Care and the use of alternative methods of teaching in the classroom to prepare students for professional careers.
