The SLU community is invited to the groundbreaking of City Garden Montessori School's new location at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the intersection of Tower Grove and McRee. City Garden Montessori Charter school is a SLU-sponsored charter school.
The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 4:15 and will include special guests from Saint Louis University, Missouri Botanical Gardens and Mayor Francis Slay's office.
The ceremony will conclude with a City Garden block party. During the block party, the community is encouraged to take a tour of the new school building, learn about City Garden's successes and understand the school's vision for growth.
The block party will also feature numerous activities provided by community organizations, free popcorn, door prizes, a community art project and a photo booth for all guests. The Saint Louis Fire Department and YMCA will host children's activities, and as a special treat, the Food Truck Food Court and the BikeWorks Bike Program will be in attendance as well.
