The department of English will host the second event of their Sheila Nolan Whalen Reading Series at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8, in room G-62 in Xavier Hall. Author Laird Hunt will read from his work. Everyone is invited to attend.
Hunt is the author of four books, including a short story collection and three novels:The Impossibly; Indiana, Indiana; The Exquisite; and Ray of the Star (all from Coffee House Press). His translation of Oliver Rohe's Vacant Lot is recently out from Counterpath Press. Hunt is on the faculty at University of Denver's creative writing program.
"Strange, original, and utterly brilliant, Laird Hunt is one of the most talented young writers on the American scene today," author Paul Auster said about Hunt.
