The Great Issues Committee will host Morris Dees at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 in rooms 172-173 of Busch Student Center. Dees will present his lecture titled "With Justice for All."
Dees, co-founder of the Southern Poverty Law Center, has a distinguished legal career in the advancement of civil rights and suing racist organizations. Using civil lawsuits, he has taken legal means to hold the Klu Klux Klan accountable for their actions in the wrongful death of Michael Donald, a lynching victim in Alabama in 1981. Additionally, he has driven several neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups into bankruptcy, causing them to further disband their organization. He is a nationally recognized lawyer for his protection of civil rights and liberties.
