Join the Heartland Center for Public Health Preparedness for their next free webinar at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30. The seminar, titled "The Joplin Tornado: Sharing the Hospital Story," will be presented by Leslie Porth, Dennis Manley and Regina Thomas.
On May 22, 2011, an EF-5 tornado destroyed much of Joplin, Mo., including one of the area's two acute care hospitals. St. John's Regional Medical Center was destroyed and required immediate evacuation of the entire building. Freeman Health System responded with primary responsibility to manage the victims of the storm resulting in overwhelming medical and trauma surge.
The response required extraordinary response from the two hospitals and support from the entire Missouri hospital community. This webinar will share the story highlights and include lessons learned from the local, regional and state association perspective.
Registration is limited to the first 100 registrants. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email with instructions for joining the meeting.
