Program in Physical Therapy
Welcome from the Program Director
Welcome to the Saint Louis University Program in Physical Therapy!
Our physical therapy program at Saint Louis University is one of the thirteen oldest in the country, first accredited in 1936. Building on the Jesuit mission and strong tradition of excellence in physical therapy education, we are committed to education of the whole person -- mind, body, and spirit -- in an environment that encourages reflection, embodies cura personalis (care of the person), and offers opportunities to serve.
Our talented and committed faculty members bring to the classroom diverse clinical experiences in areas including acute care, pediatrics, neurology, geriatrics, orthopaedics, women's health, cardiopulmonary, wound care, and sports. The faculty is committed to excellence in teaching and expanding the knowledge in our profession through research.
Physical therapists are health care professionals focused on restoring normal movement and function. We provide care for persons across a wide spectrum of ages and conditions, and practice in varying settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, home health, extended care facilities, schools, and more. There are many exciting and dynamic opportunities in physical therapy that are awaiting you!
We would love to meet you in person; consider this your invitation to visit us sometime soon! You can talk with a faculty member and students, tour the PT facilities, see the entire University campus, spend the night, and attend a class. To arrange for these opportunities visit the SLU Admissions website (beabilliken.com) or contact them by phone (800.SLU.FOR.U).
Thanks for stopping by! Come and see why our PT students chose SLU!
