Study Abroad Pre-Departure Forms
Please submit together the following completed materials to Des Peres Hall, Room 102.
The Pre-Departure Document List will help you keep track of what you are missing.
The Study Abroad Office recommends that you keep copies of important application and pre-departure documents for your personal records.
Please note: The host university may have additional paperwork for you to complete.
- Copy of Acceptance letter
- Copy of Passport (identification page only)
- Copy of Flight Reservation
- Copy of Visa (if applicable)
Although we may assist you with this process, it is your responsibility to apply for and obtain a visa. SLU may list some visa information on this site that is periodically reviewed, but you must check with the consulate for updates. If applicable, you may be required to purchase a visa or drive/fly to retrieve your visa (or hire an agency on your behalf to assist with your visa). Other students may only need to mail in an application. Visa requirements vary by country and by jurisdiction, and it is the student's reasonability to apply for and obtain the visa. Please note that these are regulations imposed by the host country government not SLU.
- Pre-Departure Student Information
- Student Participation Agreement
- Study Abroad Checklist
You will find a list of the equivalent courses for your program on the SLU Study Abroad Equivalent Courses webpage through the Office of the University Registrar. If there is a course you are interested in taking that is not listed on SLU Study Abroad Equivalent course website, please submit the course information through the Equivalency Request Form. The Study Abroad Office will work with the host institution and the Office of the University Registrar to determine the new equivalency.
- 1 Passport Sized Photo
Passport sized photos are available for purchase in the Office of International Services, Des Peres Hall, Room 102. A set of 2 passport photos costs $8.00 and payment is accepted through SLU Marketplace.
This photo will be used for the International Student ID Card. The International Student ID Card is a form of identification that is widely accepted abroad. It also has benefits such as discounts and minimal insurance. We do not use the ISIC Card as a substitute for insurance. SLU students will have their SLU student account charged directly for the ISIC card. (Note: This photo is not required for the Webster Programs as they will process your ISIC Card)
