Complete, sign and return the confirmation form.
- Non-Refundable Confirmation Fee
Submit payment for your 200 Euro non-refundable confirmation fee online.

Please keep in mind that the process can take two to three months!
Contact the SLU Study Abroad Office and the Spanish consulate in your region to begin collecting the paperwork you need to apply for a student visa, if necessary.
- ISIC form & 1 Passport Sized Photo
The International Student ID Card is a form of identification that is widely accepted abroad. It also has benefits such as discounts and minimal insurance. We do not use the ISIC Card as a substitute for insurance.
Once you are accepted into the Madrid study abroad program, you are eligible to have 4 passport sized photos taken in the Office of International Services, Des Peres Hall, Room 102.
If you require more than 4 passport sized photos, additional photos are available for purchase. A set of 2 passport photos is available for purchase for $8.00, and payment is accepted through SLU Marketplace.

This form is for your use only and is to be kept with your personal records should a medical need arise. Please do not return this form to the Madrid Campus.
- Housing Application
Complete the online housing application and pay the 250 Euro non-refundable processing fee.
- Register for Classes
You will register for classes online, through Banner, will need your SLU Net ID and your Pin. You will receive additional instructions regarding registration prior to departure.
- SLU Madrid Arrival Form
Please make sure to inform the Office of Student Life of the time, date and flight information for your arrival to Madrid by filling out the Arrival Form
*ADDITIONAL VISA INFORMATION
As soon as you confirm your attendance, you should contact the Spanish consulate or embassy that pertains to your place of residence (temporary and/or permanent) to find out what the application requirements are for a student visa. These requirements vary from one consulate to another, but you may be required to submit a health assessment form from your doctor, police report on absence of criminal record and/or official translation of certain documents, all of which take time to prepare.
U.S. citizens applying for a long-stay visa, please keep in mind that the FBI background check can take up to 15 weeks to process and is one of the required documents to apply for the student visa.
