First Ever Billiken Wiffleball Classic
On September 28 Fraternity and Sorority Life hosted the First Ever Billiken Wiffleball Classic. The tournament was a philanthropic event, with all proceeds going to Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital.
Six teams participated: Delta Gamma, Tau Kappa Epsilon, Kappa Alpha Theta, Gamma Phi Beta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Kappa Delta. Awards were given to both No. 1 in the tournament, Delta Gamma, and the team with the most involvement at the tournament, Kappa Alpha Theta. TKE came in a close second, both in the tournament and participation. They battled it out with the ladies and families of Delta Gamma in the championship game. TKE also helped our staff grill hot dogs and burgers that were sold to players, families, and other spectators.
All of the proceeds from the tournament went to Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. The Greek community raised and donated $250 to Cardinal Glennon, thanks to every team who played, and everyone who came and bought food and/or drinks. All teams that participated were very much appreciated and will be recognized by chapter name in Fraternity and Sorority Life's donation to Cardinal Glennon, as well as within their national organizations for their philanthropic efforts. This event was recognized by The Jesuit Association of Student Personnel Administrators as September's Community Impact Award Winner.
