Eric Staros, M.D., has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an associate professor, director of cytopathology and director of the Division of Clinical Pathology in the Department of Pathology. Dr. Staros earned his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine, followed by residencies at Weill Cornell Medical College and Drexel University College of Medicine. His previous faculty appointments include Thomas Jefferson University Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and Rush Medical College in Chicago.
Board-certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and cytopathology, Dr. Staros is a member of the American Society for Clinical Pathology, the College of American Pathologists, the American Medical Association and the Association for Molecular Pathology. Dr. Staros has expertise in cytopathology, surgical pathology, clinical pathology and immunology. In addition to teaching responsibilities, Dr. Staros has research interests in aspects of innate immunity.
