Located in Madrid, the heart of Spain, the Madrid Campus of Saint Louis University is one SLU's most popular study abroad destinations. While originally established in the 1960s as a study abroad program for US college students, the Madrid Campus is now a free-standing campus of Saint Louis University where students from more than 65 countries study undergraduate and graduate courses to obtain either US 4-year undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees or, in the case of study abroad students, credits towards their degrees on their home campuses.
Students can choose from a great variety of courses to complete their academic programs. For specific semester offerings, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
To apply, students must complete the online application and speak with their academic advisors about the possibility of taking classes at the Madrid campus during a certain term. The minimum requirement to apply for the program is a GPA of 2.5. The admission decision will be based on academic progress, admission essay and overall GPA of applicants. Please check the application deadlines.
Information for Admitted Students
Once acceptance is issued, students will be provided with detailed instructions regarding required documentation and paperwork for the program as well as legal documentation required for the program, such as passports and visas. Students are recommended to apply for a passport as soon as possible if needed, even prior to acceptance. Students who plan to attend an entire academic year (more than one semester) will need additional documentation to present when submitting their application for the student visa. These students will have to obtain an FBI background check authenticated with the Apostille of Hague (special Secretary of State Seal). As the background check can take up to 12 weeks to obtain, students who wish to apply for a yearlong visa should start this process as soon as possible. It is very important that students read information sent from the study abroad office regarding visas and passports, as these travel documents are essential for students to be able to attend the campus in Madrid.
