Beijing Study Center
The Beijing program is offered through The Beijing Center for Chinese Studies (TBC), which is made up of a consortium of Jesuit colleges and universities. The center is housed at the University of International Business and Economics, close to many of the main attractions.
The program offers morning language classes with afternoon and evening seminars in English. You can take introductory business courses as well as courses covering the Chinese culture, ranging from Chinese religion to the martial arts.
Two Excursions per semester: tuition covers transportation, local hotels, several meals, and admissions fees
Students are housed in the International Student Residence on UIBE's campus. This is a six-story residence hall where students are assigned living quarters on floors 2-6. Standard rooms are double occupancy. You may request a specific roommate or have one assigned to you by TBC. Students enrolled in the intensive Chinese track (6 credits) may request a Chinese roommate.
Each student room is furnished with the following: beds with pillows, sheets, towels, blankets and comforters, desks with lamps and chairs, and one bookcase per student. In addition each room has one night table, one small table with two chairs, one phone, two built-in closets and one rented refrigerator. Rooms are heated in the winter and air-conditioned in the summer. Each room has a private bath with toilet, sink and shower.
Full-year students may request a host-family during their second semester, meals are not included. You may view more information on housing here.
Students will enroll in 12 to 18 credit hours per semester.
Chinese proficiency requirement: Unless you can demonstrate fluency, you are required to take at least one three-credit-hour Chinese course.

In addition, a mandatory $22 international Student ID Card fee will be added to the student's account. Note: Students attending the Beijing Center (TBC) will be required to enroll in the TBC preferred insurance plan (currently CISI). These students will not be billed by SLU for insurance.

- Be a Non-Chinese Citizen (unless student also has permanent resident status or citizenship status in at least one country other than China)
