Looking to get involved? SLU has a number of student organizations which allow you connect with fellow students and serve the community.
Interested in joining a student group in a particular area? Look through the list below to find the ones that interest you. If you don't find one that matches your interests, please contact the Student Government Association about setting one up.
Community Health Association of Students (CHAS)
CHAS represents the Master of Public Health students at Saint Louis University. Students in CHAS organize social events, provide professional development activities and engage in service with community partners. All students in the public health masters program are eligible and encouraged to attend the monthly meetings.
Multicultural Public Health Student Association (MPHSA)
MPHSA is open to every member of the SLU community. MPHSA celebrates the uniqueness of each member of the school community and celebrates SLU's rich diversity.
There are no meetings except for those members who choose to participate in the planning of the organization's annual event, Multicultural Eve (MCE), hosted each year on the Friday before Thanksgiving. Students, faculty and staff gather to share a meal and an evening of entertainment.
The meal is a potluck dinner; each person contributing a dish reflective of their cultural tradition. Entertainment is provided by attendees who seize the opportunity to showcase their talents. Past performances have included truly memorable cooking, poetry recitation, cultural history, Zumba, dancing, singing and musical performances.
To volunteer to be a part of the MCE planning team, contact Nancy Culbert at email@example.com.
