Katherine J. Mathews, M.D., MPH, MBA, has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health. Dr. Mathews earned her master's in public health from Yale University School of Medicine, her master's in business administration from Olin Business School at Washington University and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago. She joins the SLUCare Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women's Health clinical practice in addition to her responsibilities as Director of Clinical Services for Casa de Salud, which offers low-cost health care to under- and uninsured populations in St. Louis, including Hispanic immigrants.
Board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, Dr. Mathews is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American College of Physician Executives.
Dr. Mathews is an attending physician at Saint Louis University Hospital and SSM St. Mary's Health Center and has clinical expertise in cancer screening and prevention. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Mathews has special interests in health care for uninsured and minority medical populations, as well as public health and health care policy. In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family.
