Faculty and staff who oversee social media sites for Saint Louis University departments, programs and academic units, as well as official centers and institutes, should plan to attend SLU's first Social Media Summit from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the Sinquefield Stateroom in DuBourg Hall.
Danielle Uy, associate general counsel, and Laura Geiser, assistant vice president for marketing and creative services, will review the University's recently established social media guidelines, which cover everything from legal matters to customer service. Following their presentation, Clayton Berry, assistant vice president for communications, will discuss the role of social media during emergencies or other campus crises.
At least one person who posts, updates or otherwise handles the administration of University-related social media presence should be present at the meeting. Students designated to maintain these sites are welcome, but the session is not designed for student groups or organizations.
Social media presences include but are not limited to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, YouTube, Vimeo, Pinterest, Flickr, MySpace, Tumblr, Word Press and other blogging platforms. Contact SLU Web Marketing Coordinator Anne Marie Apollo-Noël at 314-977-2591 or email@example.com with questions.
