The Department of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness will be host free bike registration events throughout the month of October.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to register their bicycles, receive a free U-Lock and learn how to secure all their property.
Bike theft is one of the No. 1 crimes of theft in the United States and bikes that are stolen are often hard to track because they are not registered, which makes recovery of them difficult.
Bike registration event date and times are as follows:
- 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 in front of Marguerite Hall and Village Apartments
- 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, in front of the dining hall entrance at Griesedieck Hall and near the front door of Fusz Hall.
- 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Reinert Hall and at the dead end of Laclede Boulevard near Marchetti Towers and Grand Forest Apartments.
