The divisions of neurology and psychiatry will host joint Grand Rounds for both divisions from 8-9 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, in Lecture Hall 1 of Schwitalla Hall.
Paul Richard Carney, M.D., chair candidate for the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry, will present "Neural Networks in Epilepsy: Evidence of and Implications for Treatment."
Carney is professor of pediatrics and neurology of the Division of Pediatric Neurology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. He also holds the B.J. and Eve Wilder Professorship in Epilepsy. He is director of the University of Florida Center of Excellence for Epilepsy Research and medical director of the Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Center. Carney is graduate faculty member and joint professor in neuroscience and biomedical engineering.
Carney is an internationally recognized expert in the diagnosis and treatment of children and adults with epilepsy, sleep disturbances and other neurologic disorders.
