Chief Operating Officer
With nearly 30 years of management, customer service, marketing and sales experience, Prentice Robertson brings a vast wealth of knowledge and experience to the role of Chief Operating Officer for Whelan Security. Prior to joining Whelan in 2003, Mr. Robertson spent 12 years with Barton Protective Services as the senior sales and marketing executive responsible for company organic growth from $40 million to nearly $350 million, an annual compound growth rate of nearly 19.8% in an industry averaging 7%. In his role as Chief Operating Officer for Whelan, Mr. Robertson oversees all field offices, with primary responsibility for the leadership of all functional areas of the company including sales, marketing, customer service, training and maintenance of company culture.
Mr. Robertson is a graduate of University of Georgia with a Bachelor's degree in journalism and minor in marketing. Professionally, he is active in several industry organizations including the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), the International Facility Managers Association (IFMA) and the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), through which he previously served on the Council for Business Practices, moderated and led several educational sessions and authored an article in Security Management magazine on performance management. He currently serves on the advisory board for the St Louis University School of Criminal Justice. Since joining the organization, Whelan has more than quadrupled in size with all growth organic.
