This certificate addresses topics related to Unix/Linux systems, whether used for data processing, software development, or system administration. Because of its significant cost savings, a growing number of companies are choosing to adopt Linux as an alternative to Microsoft products. This series begins with a brief history and overview of both Unix/Linux, and then proceeds to the core concepts of Unix/Linux, later building on the foundation with more advanced topics. Students who complete this program will be equipped to set up and administer Unix/Linux on a network, host websites, as well as configure a network of Unix/Linux computers and peripheral devices. Elective classes offer students preparation for industry wide certifications including: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA). It is suggested that you complete the core classes in the order listed below. Electives can be taken in any order, although most require one or more prerequisites.
