The University honors program welcomes academically talented students from all majors who seek an enriching college experience. It's a program about taking on challenges, developing connections with Saint Louis University's scholarly community, receiving personalized advising and support, and pursuing studies that focus on your individual academic and career interests.
These goals are accomplished through a holistic learning model that has built-in opportunities for special honors-only course sections and smaller seminar-style classes. You will also engage in experiential learning as honors students often participate in internships, independent research projects and study abroad semesters.
Among SLU's Top Achievers
As an Honors student, you'll have these experiences as part of a larger community and a professional network of students who possess a shared desire for intellectual growth. Incoming honors students are grouped together on a single residence hall floor and participate in a variety of joint activities, including dinners, sightseeing, service projects and study breaks.
Fits Any Major
But the best part of University honors is that it fits in with any academic or career path. The program draws students with a diverse set of interests and its graduates go on to study in professional schools (such as medicine or law) or graduate programs in their disciplines. A number of Honors students also successfully compete for post-graduate scholarships and fellowships such as the Truman, Marshall and Rhodes Scholarships and the Fulbright Fellowships.
