The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Geriatrics and the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry, in the Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry, will present "Pharmacologic and Non-Pharmacologic Management of Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia" from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 2, in room 1043 of the Allied Health Professions Building.
Professionals and families often find the behaviors of persons with dementia to be challenging. This program will address the pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic management of behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia from the perspectives of medicine, psychology, and social work with an emphasis on cognitive behavior interventions.
The target audience for this program includes all professionals working in geriatrics and psychology, with a special emphasis on clinicians and administrators including physicians, psychologists, nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing home administrators and those who specialize in alternative medicine.
