Globalization & the Nigerian Oil Crisis
12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
Busch Student Center, 253A
Globalization has had profound impacts on the lives of people across the world. Many of these, however, are not always positive. The negative effects of globalization can be seen in the Niger Delta Region in Nigeria. Within this region, globalization brings together the Nigerian government, the Ogoni people, and multinational oil companies with their own goals. Students from the Fall 2012 International Relations of Africa course will represent various groups interested in the Nigerian Oil Crisis and will attempt to work together to create a potential solution to the crisis in the form of a student round table presentation.
