Couples Sought for Religious Conversion Study
Married couples in which one person has converted to another religion are needed for a study of the conversions effect on the relationship.
The Department of Counseling and Family Therapy seeks married couples who have experienced the religious conversion of at least one spouse for participation in a doctoral research project investigating the effects of religious conversion on the marital relationship. Each couple that successfully completes the interviews will be given a total of $30 in Target gift cards.
To participate, the couple must meet the following requirements:
- At least one partner must have experienced a religious conversion to a theistic religion (i.e. Christianity, Islam, Judaism)
- The religious conversion must not have been motivated by the couple's decision to marry
As part of the study, the couple will be interviewed separately and together. The focus of the interviews will be how the religious conversion has influenced the marital relationship. Participants will be asked to fill out paperwork and complete interviews. It is expected that the total time involved will be no more than three hours.
To participate, contact R. Clay Coffee at firstname.lastname@example.org or 678-644-4121.
This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects and is sponsored by Saint Louis University (IRB# 22406).
