L. Michelle Lewis joined the University on January 22, 2013, as the Director of Diversity and Affirmative Action, and also serves as the University's Title IX Coordinator.
"I am genuinely excited to be a part of the SLU family," Lewis said. "The values of diversity, equity and inclusion are shared institutional responsibilities. As one of many stakeholders of this endeavor, the Office of Diversity and Affirmative Action will continue to serve as a proponent in branding the university as a safe and inclusive establishment that welcomes students, faculty and staff from all walks of life."
In her role as Title IX Coordinator, Lewis will coordinate the University's efforts to comply with and carry out its responsibilities under Title IX, including the University's response to any complaints of student-on-student sexual harassment or assault.

She later became the Red Cross' regional human resources manager with direct oversight of the Missouri-Illinois Blood Services Region.
She has a bachelor of arts degree in English from Illinois State University and a master of science in administration with an emphasis in business management from Lindenwood University.
