SGA Accepting Nominations for 'Faculty Excellence Awards'
The entire SLU community is invited to submit the names of deserving faculty by 5 p.m. Monday, April 1.
The SLU community is invited to honor a faculty member for his or her hard work and dedication with a nomination for the annual Faculty Excellence Awards.
All members of the University community are invited to nominate a faculty member, but student nominations are especially encouraged. SGA will use the responses to select eight recipients of the 2013 Faculty Excellence Awards, who will be honored at the SGA Academic Excellence Awards reception Tuesday, April 23.
Each year, the Student Government Association hosts the Faculty Excellence Awards to recognize distinguished faculty members. This year, SGA will include three new awards: the Excellence in Technology Award, the Excellence in Diversity and Social Justice Award and the Academic Advising Excellence Award.
The Excellence in Technology Award recognizes one professor for their advanced use of technology within the classroom.
The Excellence in Diversity and Social Justice Award recognizes one faculty member for living out the Oath of Inclusion and integrating issues of social justice and diversity in and outside of the classroom. The recipient of this award will be selected by the Diversity Leadership Council.
The Academic Advising Excellence Award honors three academic advisors who have gone above and beyond in their duty to SLU students.
All nominations will be accepted until 5 p.m. Monday, April 1. Nominations can be submitted online via the Google Doc form.
