Core coverage benefits are those that Saint Louis University feels strongly that you should participate in and supports participation by helping to pay for these benefits.
|Medical Insurance Plan|
|There are two medical insurance options for full-time faculty and staff. Pharmacy benefits are provided under the medical insurance through Express Scripts.|
|The Saint Louis University 403(b) Annuity and Retirement Plans are defined contribution programs provided through TIAA-CREF.|
|Saint Louis University provides life insurance coverage for benefits-eligible faculty and staff equal to one times their salary. Supplemental coverage may be purchased as well.
|Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance (AD&D)|
|Saint Louis University provides AD&D insurance coverage for benefits-eligible faculty and staff equal to one times their salary. Supplemental coverage may be purchased as well.
|LTD insurance supplements your income if you become totally disabled and are unable to work for three months or longer.
You can enroll in voluntary benefits as they suit your needs. The employee pays the full cost of voluntary benefits.
|Supplemental Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance can be purchased in increments of $10,000.
|The accident plan will be offered through Voya (formerly ING). This plan will help protect you financially by reimbursing you for expenses which occur due to an accident. This includes, but is not limited to, hospital care, follow-up visits, and emergency expenses.
|There are three dental options: Two dental PPOs and one premier program.
|Flexible Spending Accounts|
|Saint Louis University offers a health FSA and a dependent care FSA.
|Optional Life Insurance|
|Supplemental Life insurance may be purchased in increments of one, two or three times the annual salary, up to a maximum of $400,000 (total combined base plus supplemental).
|Health Savings Accounts|
|Employees enrolled in the HDHP medical plan may elect to contribute pre-tax dollars into a Health Savings Account.
|The vision plan will be offered through Vision Service Plan (VSP). In this plan, you will have access to benefits for eye exams, frames, lenses, and contacts. You will also have access to discounts on laser vision correction procedures and lens enhancements.
Saint Louis University provides a comprehensive tuition benefit for employees, spouses and dependent children.
|The Tuition Exchange Program enables eligible dependent children of Saint Louis University employees to apply for a Tuition Exchange Program scholarship at any of the over 600 Tuition Exchange Program participating colleges and universities.
|Jesuit Faculty and Staff Children Exchange Program (FACHEX)|
|FACHEX is an undergraduate tuition remission program for the dependent children of full-time faculty and staff at participating Jesuit institutions. Dependent children may be able to obtain the tuition benefits from 26 other Jesuit schools.
|Open Enrollment takes place every November for medical, dental, medical and dependent flexible spending plans, and health savings accounts. Changes take effect on January 1.
|Summary Annual Reports|
|Any employee benefit plan must furnish annually to each participant of such plan and to each beneficiary receiving benefits under the plan, a summary annual report conforming to the requirements set forth in Sec 2520.104b-1 in the Codes of Federal Regulations Pertaining to EBSA.|
