On May 4, Saint Louis University hosted the "25th Anniversary Gala: Celebrating Father Biondi's Leadership" in Chaifetz Arena.
The event honored the contributions of SLU President Lawrence Biondi, S.J., and marked the University's significant progress during his tenure. Father Biondi has led SLU through a remarkable era achievement since his inauguration in 1987. He is one of the longest serving presidents at an American Jesuit college or university.
Approximately 800 alumni, supporters and community leaders attended the gala, which received approximately $1.4 million for student scholarships and academic initiatives.
In addition to the formal dinner and program, SLU hosted a post-dinner reception for young alumni.
During his remarks, Father Biondi announced his intention to retire from the presidency of Saint Louis University and to work with the University's Board of Trustees on the search process for his success.
