Marya L. Strand, M.D., M.S., FAAP, has joined the faculty of Saint Louis University School of Medicine as an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Strand earned her Master of Science in clinical research design and statistical analysis from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where she also completed her pediatric residency, followed by a neonatal-perinatal fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. She joins SLUCare from Indiana University School of Medicine, where she was an assistant professor of clinical pediatrics and co-director of the neonatal resuscitation program.
Board certified in pediatric medicine and neonatal-perinatal medicine, Dr. Strand is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of Society for Simulation in Healthcare. Dr. Strand is an attending physician at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, SSM St. Mary's Health Center, SSM St. Joseph's West Hospital, SSM St. Clare Health Center and St. Anthony's Hospital and has clinical expertise in delivery room care and neonatal resuscitation. In addition to patient care and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Strand has clinical research interests in best practices for delivery room procedures and educational research interests in simulation-based medical education. Dr. Strand cares for patients in the intensive care nursery at SSM Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center, 1465 S.
