SLUCare's pediatric emergency medicine physicians are the emergency room doctors at Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. Our physicians treat more than 47,000 children in the emergency department annually, including approximately who 400 require admission to Cardinal Glennon's pediatric intensive care unit.
All SLUCare emergency department physicians are certified in pediatric advanced life support and pediatric advanced cardiac and trauma support for life (PACTS). PACTS was developed by SLUCare physician Anthony Scalzo, MD, and is the only certification program like it.
A SLUCare emergency medicine pediatrician is on site at Cardinal Glennon around the clock for emergency care, discussion about the need to transfer to another facility and support for the transport team. In an emergency, your child could not be in better hands.
