The Saint Louis University Dietetic Internship Class of 2012 began their 10 month journey on August 15, 2011. They came from a variety of undergraduate programs and hometowns across of the nation but quickly meshed into the 2012 class of 34 interns. They are a spirited group with a solid work ethic, commitment to service, and passion for learning. It is going to be another great year.
|Dietetic Intern class of 2011-2012|
The Dietetic Internship Program kicked off the year with a trip to the MUNY and the Anheuser Busch Brewery to get to know each other and to explore St. Louis. They survived clinical boot camp and began their clinical rotations in September. They experienced professional dietetic associations and leadership opportunities in the field by attending local (SLDA) and national dietetic conferences. They have been assisting at local health fairs and community events. And, they have begun teaching nutrition education in the St. Louis City Schools using community and school gardens. We have been busy but are off to a great start!!
The SLU Dietetic Internship introduced a Blogging Project this year to get the word out about nutrition and dietetics to the local community and prospective students and/or dietetic interns. Each intern will be assigned one week during the internship to blog about a topic of their choice related to nutrition and dietetics. This will give our followers an opportunity to learn more about our internship program and the experiences and reflections of our internship class. We hope you enjoy following the class of 2011-2012 on their journey!
