Saint Louis University Graduate Education
Welcome to the Office of Student Financial Services' resource page for graduate students! Our mission is to assist you in identifying and providing resources to meet the costs associated with our graduate programs.
This page is designed to give you comprehensive information on the available programs and requirements to be eligible for funding. We encourage you to share this information with your family. While the primary responsibility for funding your education lies with you and your family, there are also a variety of financial aid programs available to assist with your educational costs.
There are several ways to finance a graduate education, the most common of which are assistantships, fellowships, and loans.
Assistantships are offered through individual academic and administrative departments. Acceptance into a program merits automatic consideration for an academic assistantship. Students should contact his or her department regarding available academic assistantship positions.
Fellowships are awarded based on nominations from departments. To be considered students must have all application materials in by February 1st.
To begin the application for government student aid, being Federal Direct and Graduate PLUS loans, please complete the FAFSA. Saint Louis University's FAFSA School Code is 002506. Financial aid packets are mailed beginning on March 1 of each year for new students and include useful information about accepting financial aid awards, available student loans and payment of your student account. To receive a financial aid packet, you must file the FAFSA.
Generally graduate students are eligible to receive the maximum Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan award of $20,500. The student may borrow additional aid through the Graduate PLUS loan program. The Graduate PLUS loan may be borrowed up to the cost of attendance, less any scholarship and Stafford loans awarded. We hope you find the information provided here to be helpful. If you have questions, feel free to call or stop by. No appointment is necessary.
