The Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapeutics at Saint Louis University is pleased to announce that the Magnetic Resonance Imaging class of 2013 achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the national MRI board examination administered by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Students take the national exam after successfully completing a Bachelor of Science degree program.

“I am extremely proud of our graduates and their performance on the credentialing exam,” said Marcey Kennedy, MA, MRI program director. “Their combined average scaled scores were 93.5, well above the national average of 82.5, which is very encouraging for our first year of graduates. The students’ efforts, excellent faculty and staff, and exceptional clinical sites provided the necessary training for such achievement.
“The results from our first graduating class are outstanding,” said William Hubble, MA, Chair of the Department. “I am proud of the initial outcomes of this new program at Saint Louis University. Student enrollments are exceeding projections and support from the community is growing. I congratulate our new faculty and their contributions to making this program a success.”
Elizabeth Young, a 2013 graduate said, “The program taught me what I needed to know to be a great technologist in the advanced and ever-changing field of MRI” Young is currently employed as an MRI technologist at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
