Women's Commission Honors 2014 'Women of the Year'
May 01, 2014
The Saint Louis University Women's Commission recognized the contributions and successes of women at the University during the 37th annual Women of the Year Luncheon.
Each year, a group of women is selected from nominations received across the University for their personal commitment to the educational goals of the University, and for their unselfish giving of time and effort to the service of others.
"Each and everyone of our honorees this year are truly outstanding in all that they do," said Julie Wolter, Awards Chair for the Women's Commission. "They exemplify the Jesuit Mission, and I am in awe of their accomplishments."
The 2014 Women of the Year are:
Louise Flick, DrPH, professor of epidemiology in the College for Public Health and Social Justice
Jennifer Giancola, Ph.D., associate professor in the School for Professional Studies
Kathy Merlo, chief operating officer for University Medical Group
Barbara Whitman, Ph.D., professor of pediatrics in the School of Medicine
Elizabeth Murphy, a senior in the Micah Program
A springtime tradition since 1977, the Commission hosted the event in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity. Find a complete list of previous award recipients online at the Women's Commission website.
